Easter is Awesome.

So, even though I know what the real meaning of Easter is, the babies really don't give a crap about that kind of stuff yet.  In fact, if they sat still for more than 5 minutes at church, it would be a miracle.  So, I figured what they WOULD enjoy, would be the Easter bunny stuff.  So Jake and I had a pretty good time getting that ready.  We dyed the eggs, got the baskets, etc.  The nice part of having so many sisters, is that I have a ridiculous amount of hand-me-down clothes, especially for Hazel.  So I was just able to pull something out for their Easter outfits.  And they looked cute.  So here is a montage of Our Easter.  Enjoy!

Hazel is loving her new wagon.  Since she can walk and Zeke can't, we figured it would be cute for her to pull it around with her toys.  But she doesn't.  See below.

Zeke pretty much bangs on everything, the fridge, the walls, the couch, his sisters head, so we got him a drum.  It came with all sorts of instruments. All of which, he likes to hit Hazel on the head with.

Zeke just wants to make sure Hazel knows that all of the gifts from the Easter bunny are his.

And this is what they like to do with the wagon.  Perfect.

I would like to say that they "found" the eggs, but really they picked up the same eggs over and over, and made sure to suck on it.  But what did I really expect from a couple of almost 11 month olds?
This egg is MINE!

Happy Easter from Zeke and Hazel!

The lack of a second nap...

Leads to this:

Last week...
Tonight mid dinner.

So tired.  So, so tired.

And one of a ridiculously messy Hazel, just for fun.

More good times...

It has been a busy few weeks here at the Powell home.  Nothing spectacularly amazing, we put in sod in our backyard, got into 2 car accidents, Zeke got a haircut (boo-hoo!) and Jake got a new job.  So yeah, been a little busy.  Here is a photo update of the last few weeks of the life of Zeke and Hazel.

Pure Zeke cuteness at the beach

Pretty much most of my time is spent preventing Hazel from eating sand and sticking rocks in her mouth...Awesome.

So, I begrudgingly gave Zeke a haircut.  I didn't want to, but after the last round of people thinking Zeke was a girl, I caved.  Here is a pic that is a few weeks old, showing the before a bit.  Notice the longer beautiful baby locks of hair and slight curl...

And now he's a little boy.  No more baby hair.  I actually cried a little.  We didn't mean to cut it so short, we started out trying for "just a trim," and it worked out well for the back and sides.  However, when we tried to cut the front, he jerked his head.  Which gave him a baby mullet.  Not cute.  Not cute at all.  Which meant we had to bust out the clippers.  Trying to to cut a baby's hair is like herding cats.  I don't know how any of you do it.

Playing on our newly sodded (is that a word?) backyard.  Like our ghetto fence?

Clearly, Zeke is excited.

And I'm bored.

Toddlers. Yep.

Zeke and Hazel have passed the 10 month mark.  They have now been out in the cruel world for longer than they were in utero.  It has been a very busy, but extremely enjoyable 10 months.  Random people often ask me how it is having twins, how hard it is, etc.  I really do love it.  I mean, I don't think I want ANOTHER set of twins, but I wouldn't want it any other way.  I honestly can't imagine life without both these crazy babies.  They are always go go go.  Especially Zeke.  He often won't even stop for a nap and just plays until he passes out.  Hazel on the other had, loves a good nap.  She also is just a lot more intense and focused.  Zeke just wants to throw everything or bang on things.  Its really cute how different they are.  They love to play together now too.  They will wrestle around and giggle until someone gets pinned (usually Hazel).  He loves to pick on his sister.  I think it may be a sign of what's to come.  Lots of "Zeke stop hitting your sister!  No biting!  She's a lot littler than you!"  etc, etc.  That all sounds familiar though...I'm pretty sure my mom said the same things to Jessica when she was picking on me.  Good times, man, good times.   There are lots of pictures to follow.  You're welcome.

Ahoy matey!

She is showing off her standing skills.  She kind of freaks people out with her standing cause she's so tiny.

Getting so big!

Classic Zeke face.
