Hiking Torrey Pines

While Sunny was here, we decided to hike Torry pines with the Dane Powell family.  It was also the first time we used our baby backpacks.  We got them off Craigslist for 15 bucks each.  Did I ever tell you how much I love Craigslist?  Without it, these babies would have nothing.  NOTHING!  Anyways, it was a beautiful day for a hike.  Here are some pictures to show off what a beautiful place we live.  Don't be too jealous.

Grandma Sunny's Visit and going to Disneyland

Jake's mom decided to come out for a quick visit.  She lives in Ft Worth, TX, as do much of his family.  While she was here, we went to the beach, went to Cafe Rio 3 times, celebrated Jake's and Rachel 1(Dane's wife, the 1st Rachel Powell)'s birthdays by having a pool party and my parents, and going to Disneyland.  Disney land was quite the undertaking with the twins, but they actually really enjoyed it.  They loved the rides they went on (except Pirates of the Carribbean, that may have scarred poor Hazel for life), they napped, they got cuddles, they played in Mickey's house, they got some yummy snacks and fun toys, what's not to love?  We also were able to show off to Sunny all of the babies skills, they are getting really good and learning to walk.  Jake made them a ghetto walker out of PVC pipe and they love it.  The below videos show some of the awesomeness.  I would post more, but then no one would watch them.  Not that anyone really does besides A few of my sisters and Christina in Japan.  Anyways, we had a really good time while Sunny was here and I know the babies miss her already!  They definitely got cuddle-spoiled.  We hope we can have her visit again soon!

Since the weather has been beautiful lately and I get off work at 2:30, we have been going to the park.  And since my babies are super cute, here are some delightfully cute pictures of them.  These may be a bit old, but I have twins.  Don't judge me!

Just another day at the beach...

So, you know you live in a pretty good place when you can go to the beach in the winter.  We decided to take the babies to the beach with Jake's brother Dane and his boys.  This was the first time the twins have actually been able to enjoy the beach at all.  Before, they would just sleep the whole time.  They loved to crawl around, splash in the water, and eat sand.  Hazel was especially proficient at that last part.  Check her out in the video below, but I warn you, it is disgusting.  At least its not poop. I don't know if I could handle that.  EW.

9 month old twin babies are busy little stinkers

So, my teeny tiny little babies are now 9 months old.  And, as evidenced in the previous video post, they are everywhere.  Hazel is even starting to stand all by herself.  She can stand from a squat.  this means that walking is around the corner.  i am doomed.  Doomed I say!  Also, Zeke is usually only a week or so behind her.  He is getting to be soooo big.  So here are some cute pictures of them along with the stats from the doctor.  Also, how much did I love that their 9 month appointment had no shots?  A LOT!

So he's a little on the small side, but he has a huge melon.  It's weird that he's considered small, because he's so big to everyone.  Maybe that's just because Hazel is so tiny...

Like I said, tiny.  They are so different in size that people often don't think they are twins.  They just think I had 2 babies REALLY close together. 

They are getting so big that my friends are already asking me what my plans are for their first birthday.  I don't even want to THINK about that yet!

I bet you didn't think I meant THAT up close and personal.  This is just for all the Hazel and Zeke fans out there.  I know there must be tons, and by tons, I mean at least 4 or 5. 

Yes, he does look a bit like Chris Farley here.  And no, he does not live in a van down by the river.

They are both now champion eaters.   You wouldn't think so by how tiny Hazel is, but that girl loves to eat.  In fact, she's much better at feeding herself.  Zeke just wants the food shoveled in as fast as possible, he doesn't want to waste time by doing it himself.  Darn chubby fingers..they always get in the way!

This is how he commonly looks after eating...happy, messy, and ridiculous.  Hazel is usually about the same but sometimes, she ends up like this:
